Leopard upgrade

I upgraded to Leopard yesterday with great success. Everything worked when the OS came back up, from WOW to dev tools like svn and git. Pointing iCal at the hub.chandlerproject.org CalDAV endpoint (https://hub.chandlerproject.org/dav/users/travis) was very satisfying.

I’m still kicking the tires a little, but so far I’m really digging Spaces. Near the end of my last fling with Linux I used the virtual desktop feature of GNOME quite a bit and missed it a little when I got a Mac. The pain mostly went away, however, due to the magic that is expose. Spaces is virtual desktop pretty much to the feature, except that it is, in typical Apple fashion, just a little sexier with nice crisp sliding effects and intelligent window management.

My next step is to clear out some space on an external USB drive I have and give Time Machine a shot. I’m pretty terrible about backups, so anything that might encourage me to do that is probably a good idea.
